Here's to New Beginnings...

Hi ladies. Thanks to all of you that stuck around. I don't think I posted about it but my family & I lost our home to the floods in Atlanta last year. We are renters so we had to move in an apartment for a quick fix. I think I'm just starting to feel normal again.

At some point after the flood I decided that I wanted to go back natural. So I haven't touched my curl up since June of last year. However, I remembered why I got a curl in the first place & how much me & my natural hair didn't get along. I have an appointment for a touch up on the 17th of this month. I know now that I cannot go longer than 6 months without touching my curl up. I have some damage from stretching this long. Nothing really major but I do have a small spot in my crown where all of the chemical snapped completely off. :(

I had been wearing my hair in a beehive cornrow style under wigs & the cornrows were ending right in the center of my head. Apparently the stress from having it end in the same spot caused the breakage. My stylist took a look at my hair on Friday & told me that to avoid more damage I needed to go ahead & touch up & baby my hair until then. Of course I'm going to follow her recommendation.

I will post pics to let you all see what my hair looks like with 8 months of new growth & then what my new touch-up looks like. My mother just cut off her perm & got somewhat of a curl. She didn't have enough hair to rod so my stylist just used step 1of the Wave By Design to texturize her natural hair. She will wear it like that until she has enough hair to rod. I will try & get some pictures of her hair to post as well.

Again, thanks to all of you that are still around. I'm not making any promises but I will try to slowly revive this blog. I posted it before but if anyone wants to guest blog, please contact me. It would be better if you e-mailed me at tmfi828@yahoo.com because I don't always check the e-mail that is associated with this blog.

Talk to you later, divas...
