Product Reviews - Ferm

So here's the lineup for the Ferm Maintenance line & the claims of each product. With the exception of the information on the Moisturizing Aqualizer, this info was taken directly from the Avlon website. For some reason the page wouldn't load that contained the information for the Aqualizer so I had to grab the information from an online beauty supply website that carries the product.

I never investigated Ferm's product line. I was surprised to see that they only carry three products. Now that I think about it, Design Essentials really only has two so I guess that isn't abnormal.

Hair Pics

This 1st one isn't so clear b/c it was getting dark on the beach. However, this is one of my favorites because my hair was so big.

Just getting back from vacation...

Hi divas. I have read all of your comments & I will be updating with pictures on tomorrow. I washed my hair for the first time this weekend while I was at the beach. My hair gives me different results on a daily basis but still I'm loving it.

Because I listened to my stylist & didn't wash before my week was up, my curls are still in tact. They don't look exactly the same as the pics I posted but I love them nonetheless.

So, I'll post on tomorrow. Cya then...

FINALLY....MY TOUCHUP PICS...

I HAVE MY CURLS BACK!!! HALLELUJAH!

I won't do this with the next touch-up but I did want to show how my stylist does a retouch. In doing my research, I've learned of different touch-up methods so I wanted you all to see exactly what she does. The rearranger was applied to my new growth only.

Sorry I didn't take pictures of the rodded hair but this time we used 2 rod sizes versus the three we used the last time. These are the two sizes that she used.

This is right after she took the rods out.

This is after I got home. My hair was about 90% dry on these.

And this is me a few minutes ago. My hair is completely dry & I love it. I love how the smaller rods all over gave it a straw set look. Who would ever believe that this is a "curly kit"? LOL

Zara (a.k.a. Loves2Laugh) & Her Ferm Perm...

Natalie's child was sick this week so my appointment was moved to tomorrow. I will post pics as soon as I get home. But I do have a wonderful feature. Thanks Zara!!!

In her words...

Picture 1
First day: it originally looked quite good, but I messed it up trying on clothes whilst shopping & adding more product.

Picture 2
Morning after the retouch: I don’t like the way it looked here, I applied too much product. I had to wait for a couple of hours for it to dry to make it look better (I don’t have any pics of it looking better though, sorry).

Picture 3
Approximately a week after the retouch & it’s filling out quite nicely. I just applied some product & combed a little.

Picture 4
Texture shot, also about a week after the retouch. I love this pic, my hairline looks great! I put too much moisturiser on the edges on the first day & they puffed up, especially the temples/sides. You can even see it in the first photo but it got worse each day. I now use Avlon’s Edge Definer to blend those parts in with the rest of my hair. BTW pls ignore the whitish tinge on my skin! It’s the SPF in my moisturiser; it takes a while to fade.

HAPPY FRIDAY!!! SHORT PRODUCT REVIEW

Well for most of us, Friday is almost over. I just wanted to touch bases with my Divas & let you know that I postponed my hair appointment until Tues of next week. So as soon as I get home from the appointment, you know I'll be posting pics.

I'm still struggling with whether or not I should color my hair. I've gone from 156 pounds to 138.6 (as of today) & I plan to lose 13 more. I would like a total overhaul & of course new color would fit right in. But part of me still loves my black hair.

I think I just need to ask Natalie whether or not I could easily go back to black should I not like or get tired of the color.

Now on to the good stuff - the PRODUCT REVIEW:

I had the privilege of being one of the first people to own/try the Syntonics Edge Define Hairline Smoother. I definitely give this product 2 thumbs up. The minty smell is right on time. The consistency is unlike any other product I've felt & I do mean that in a good way.

And it does live up to it's claims. I first used it while I was wearing my hair straight. No matter if I'm natural, relaxed or curly permed, my hairline is the first to go when it comes to hairstyles. So once my hairline became fuzzy, I used the Smoother to blend it back in with my straight hair.

I did have to reapply daily but I don't think the intended use is really to lay your edges down. I'm working with over 3 months of new growth so once I washed the flatiron style out, I used it to define/blend my edges with the rest of my hair. It worked just fine. I will say this, though. A little goes a long way!

I just checked the Syntonics website & it doesn't appear that it is available for purchase as of yet. However, as soon as it is, I will be doing a giveaway. I'm constantly on the hunt for products that can be used by all curly perm wearers & this is definitely one. Even my stylist was impressed by it & the ingredients & she's a tough cookie when it comes to new products.
